The Outreach & Education committee performs outreach to young women to promote engineering as a career path. The committee has previously exemplified this through its workshops and the annual High School Mentorship Program, which pairs up women at UBC Engineering with 2-3 high school students. In the 2023-24 academic year, the program reached a record high of approximately 94 mentees, and 40 mentors. During the current 2024-25 academic year, the program surpassed its previous record and reached 116 mentees and 54 mentors. The committee is also conducting an online workshop series alongside the Mentorship Program this year, which may include events such as a coding workshop, university application workshop and a guide to first year at UBC.
